Burnaby Insulation Supplies Ltd. began operations in 1983 as a distribution business focused on the mechanical insulation industry. The company started as a privately owned Canadian business headquartered in Burnaby, B.C. Over the years we added branch distribution centres in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta. Our Edmonton operation has fabrication capabilities to produce a complete range of preformed insulation fittings from all types of generic insulation products. In February 2008 our Edmonton operation moved into a new 66,000 square foot warehouse facility. We installed state of the art material handling systems that have improved our efficiencies and customer service to levels that we believe will set a new standard in our industry. In July 2009 we completed the implementation of a bar code and scanning system that will further enhance our shipping accuracy and streamline our internal material handling. These moves were preceded by our investment in a new internal operating system. The new facility coupled with our state of the art operating and material handling systems will provide the tools for our employees to exceed the expectations of our customers.

Our company continues to specialize in the mechanical insulation industry and over the years has added product lines to compliment the past and future growth of the insulation industry. We continue to source new products and technologies that will provide value to the users of mechanical insulation products. In addition to mechanical insulation materials, we stock a complete range of metal cladding and other finishing products along with accessory items to compliment any mechanical insulation application.

On June 28, 2010 the assets of the Company were purchased by Superior Plus Construction Products Distribution (CPD) a division of Superior Plus LP. Superior is a Canadian, publicly traded group of diversified businesses with three operating divisions and operations primarily in North America. CPD is one of those divisions comprised of Winroc, Specialty Products & Insulation (SPI) and Burnaby Insulation. The newly acquired business now operates as Burnaby Insulation/SPI.
